He wore a sweater. It was pulled all the way up to his chin.

It was Gucci, I’m sure of it. It may have been lightweight cashmere or cable-knit angora, you know the kind that feels soft against the skin. But it was so last season, it was laughable! I’d say it was teal blue or was it aquamarine? Possibly turquoise. Perhaps azure? No,wait, definitely cyan! Is that the same as sapphire?

She paused as the detective raised his hand wearily, ‘Lady, when I asked for a detailed summary of the assailant’s clothes, this isn’t quite what I meant.’

  1. A detailed summary! Poor lady. She didn’t know realise that the assailant could have changed from his Gucci sweater into Nike sportswear anytime after committing the crime πŸ˜› All her observations were of no use!

I haven’t really thought about this oxymoron, though I may have encountered it so many times during examinations! For example, give a detailed summary about the French Revolution. ?

  2. The detective’s nightmare! I once remember seeing a show where an investigation is going on, and the person they’re interrogating simply looks at a picture on the wall and describes it accurately and when the person sketching it finishes, they realize she’s duped them.

    Nice detailed summary!

  3. That was funny. Technically she is right. The poor detective didn’t expect such a detailed summary! Good one, Shailaja.
I am following your micro fictions this month, Shailaja, even though I’m not commenting on all of the posts know that I’m here enjoying them all. πŸ™‚

  4. Reminded me of the movies “The Devil wears Prada” and “Legally Blonde”. Have you seen them? Funny one Shailaja….Brought a smile

  5. This brought a smile, Shailaja!
Ah! Colours! Even I find myself looking for the exact name of the shade:):)
God or Devil is in the details?

  6. Love the way your mind works, and takes your readers right with it as well. My next activity is going to be googling and checking for those colors you know ;). Nicely done!

  7. LOL. Exasperating human! Especially because I don’t understand colors outside of the regular red, blue, green, basic ones.

P.S. Sorry for only showing up now. In my defense, I had a pretty nasty fall from a flight of stairs at home, and was mostly bedridden for the last 2 days. Had an x-ray appointment today, but results aren’t out yet, so have to wait it out.

Will go and look up your A, B and C now (okay, once I typed it out, the last sentence sounds odd, but you get what I mean). πŸ˜€

  8. Hahaha!! Women can be so detail-oriented! Loved the confusion she had with deciding the color. And ofcourse the detective’s plight πŸ™‚

And here I am, yet to write my post for “C”, when the whole world has moved on to D.
