Classmates of 90
by Lata Sunil
There was a certain simple elegance to the way Lata wove in the emotions regarding a reunion into just 50 words. She brought out the reality that is physical- paunches, hairlines, marital status and more. Finally, the note she ends on is so lovely that you go back and read the poem again, savouring the rush of nostalgia that you feel at reunions.
Congratulations for the Runner-Up Badge, Lata 🙂
<3 THE WINNER! <3
Sfurti has been known for her hard-hitting tales and poems before. She brings out the harsh truth in many urban homes today. The frightening reality is that there can be a Sita living next door to you or a Ram who will smile at you in the local park. And you would never know. When you read a piece that lingers in your mind long after you have read it, you know it deserves the badge it has won today.
Congratulations for the Winner’s Badge, Sfurti 🙂
