In cold shock, he watched her fall towards the ground. Not in his wildest dreams would he have imagined that this day would come.

She’d been a special part of his existence for a very long time. His relationship with her had been a carefully guarded secret at first. Then, slowly, he started telling people about her. He wasn’t exactly ashamed of her, but he knew that people would look at him askance.

“Are you sure this is what you want to do?” said one.

“I don’t see this going on for too long. You’re a fickle chap,” said his uncle.

But he had been determined to see it through.

After six months, he moved to the next stage. His closest advisors warned him that it was too soon, but he didn’t listen.

Now, he wondered if they had been right.

Perhaps he should have picked a different name. Gravity just sounded right at the time.

  1. Yesterday, it was Leo’s summer cottage, and today it is the stock value of your company! Names must be picked carefully, I guess.

  2. I have been playing the guessing all though wondering what it could be….and you gave us an unexpected twist! wow!

  3. Every day, I eagerly look out for your story, read it, and then come across the twist. And, then, begin the giggles and the chuckles! Fantastic job, Shailaja! 🙂

  4. You are nailing it Shailaja! So much fun every day to read your posts, and try to guess what you are up to today..:-) Haha – love it

  5. So gravity did stay true to its name 😀 Didn’t see this one coming! My mind keeps on drawing so many scenarios, playing the guessing game when I read your posts ma’am 🙂 Good for my imagination I guess 😉
