The wind was turning into a gale, a far fiercer one than she’d expected. Trees began to sway dangerously in the wind while she held on to the frilly portion that covered the base of her attire. The frail tendrils at the ends were already ripping away in the force of Mother Nature’s fury!
Then, it happened. A sudden strong gust lifted her up. She was too shocked to scream. Without warning, she slammed into the sidewalk, falling flat on her back! People hurried by, nobody stopped to pick her up.
Why would they? She was just a paper bag. . .
