As I type this, my body sighs from the exhaustion of a day spent by my daughter’s bedside. She’s been suffering from a severe attack of indigestion and it’s taken its toll on her.
Re-blogged from Diary of a Doting Mom:
Today is February 20th, when over a thousand bloggers are simultaneously posting on a topic of their choice with a common theme of compassion. The idea is the brainchild of Yvonne Spence who asked:
How cool would it be if we could get 1000 bloggers on the same day to write posts about compassion, kindness, support, caring for others, non-judgement etc.?We could call it 1000 Voices For Compassion.Who’s in?Well, we have well over a 1000 voices doing this today! I am thrilled to be a voice among thousand others.
It is my pleasure and privilege to host notable blogger, communications consultant and my dear friend, Suman Bolar, to answer questions on the myths and facts surrounding mental illness.

Break, break, break
gently, my love.
Upon the shore of my heart
leave your pain, your worries and your heartbreak.
Rend, rend, rend
upon my shoulder
those feelings of sadness, inadequacy and despair.
Rip, rip, rip
From the soul of your being
The meaningless garb of self-pity, guilt and worthlessness.
Lay it all at my door
Lay it out as you would on a sparkling, clean floor;
Watch as I wash it all away
Without question, without contempt and without pretense.
For in your agony I see what I never did tell another soul:
A mirror to my own suffering.
Thank you to Lord Alfred Tennyson for the first line for today’s verse
