Taking a break from blogging

So, it had to happen. I have gone and caused excruciating pain to develop in my neck and shoulder muscles, thanks to prolonged and incorrect laptop usage. As a result, I am now forced to take a temporary break from blogging.

quill break

This kills me, because I have grown to look at blogging as almost akin to breathing. My day feels incomplete if I do not write a post Β a day. πŸ™

To think that I won’t be writing for the rest of October is too difficult to accept, so I’ll keep this short.

Thank you to everyone who visits and comments on my posts. Whether you’re a frequent flyer here or someone in transit, I appreciate your presence. A blogger/ writer is made by her readers and gratitude overwhelms me when I think of how this blog has grown in the last 5 months. On a happier note, I DID manage 71 days of blogging daily, so that’s something πŸ™‚

I will try and be back in November. There is a crazy idea brewing in my brain: It is telling me I should attempt NaNoWriMo, but I am not sure if I am up for it yet.

In the meantime, please feel free to read my other posts on the blog, right fromΒ 42 word and 100 word fiction pieces, five sentence fiction bits to my tips and advice for writers. See you around, folks. Happy Blogging and Happy Living to you all!

  1. Ah! We do suffer from this owing to prolonged hours & incorrect posture/use of comp.
Hope you are better, Shailaja. Take care.

Looking forward to your Fiction prompt this month πŸ™‚

  2. It must be really bad for you to take a break like this. Sending lots of positive vibes to you. I hope you feel better soon, being in prolonged pain is not something anyone should to go through, least of all, YOU! Take care, REST. Don’t sneak in Laptop time πŸ™‚

  3. Wishing you well…and good luck in staying offline long enough to participate in Nano. I’m doing it again this year and I am wondering if the Blog distraction is going to be a problem. Good luck on your end.

  4. So sorry and hope you are better soon. Does your laptop have voice activation? I didn’t realize mine did until I looked for it — now I can talk to it and it does the typing!

  5. Shailaja, we are sailing in the same boat! I, too, use all the wrong positions while using my lappie and then get complaints from my neck , shoulders and lower back. But, I guess, I have not learnt my lesson! I can very well understand what you are going through. I do hope you feel better soon. Will wait for you next post here and pray for your health. Take care, dear!

  6. A little yoga should help ease out the irritants. Take care, akka, and come back refreshed. Btw, is the flash fiction contest for October still on?

So, what did you think?
