I’m doing something I hate doing: Jumping in at the last minute!
After resolving not to do the challenge this year, thanks to health and other issues, I decided last evening , ‘Well, what’s the harm?’ Of course, I have not thought this through!
But that’s the thing about challenges: They push you to your limits, they help you break out of the comfort zone and in my case, perhaps, bring me back to what I love doing: writing flash/micro fiction.
I am a fish swimming against the current, people: A blue goldfish, if you will! That’s the hint to my theme. Any guesses? No?
With that, I hereby reveal my theme for this year’s A to Z challenge. Ta-da!
For this year’s A to Z Challenge, I’ve taken up the theme of:
An Oxymoron rendered inΒ micro-fiction
I’ll be crafting a short tale (really short) based on the oxymoron of the day. Each day’s titleΒ will have one half of the oxymoron while the second half will be revealed towards the end of the post.
That’s not all;
I’ll be attempting to do it in 100 words exactly.
Follow me as I unravel each taleΒ this April. Hey, it’s 100 words. You know you want to read me next month!
Thanks to Shutterstock and their fabulous image library, I will have some lovely images to go with each post, so do stop by π
Are you taking part too? Do leave a comment with a link to your blog/theme reveal and I’ll be sure to check you out soonest! Good luck everyone!

I love your theme! Sounds like a great time for me to be back to the virtual world. Not participating in AtoZ this year, but will be around here often!
YAY! Looking forward to seeing you around again, Shantala π
Aha, you had to jump in didn’t you? π
100 exact words, wow, that could be a challenge. Like you have let that stop you anyway π
All the best, love. I’ll be back for your posts.
You’d better be π Thank you, love π
Jumping in at the last minute that too with twists in the theme!! So brave you are!!Having said that, I love your theme π
As brave as you are π All the best to you too!
Wow! Fabulous theme! You love a good challenge, don’t you? π Looking forward to reading your stories!
I certainly do π Now to see if I can follow it through.
Woo-hoo it’s story time. πππ I am already excited to read your stories after a long time. Take care of that wrist though.
Thank you, thank you. I will take care for sure π
Wow, this sounds tough AND fantastic! I don’t think this is a theme I could ever pull off, but I have absolute faith in you. Look forward to this one! π π π
Yay! Thanks for the vote of confidence!
I love this theme… looking forward to it π
Thank you, Ankitha! Are you participating too?
I am in. April’s a bad month, but oh well π
He he, welcome aboard. We’ll all swim or sink together, never fear π
Wow! You’ve certainly made this extra-challenging, Shailaja. :O I am in total awe and can’t wait to see what you come up with. Glad to know you’re feeling well enough to do this. Cheers!
Thank you so much, Debbie! I cannot wait for April π
You are amazing and you know it π Very much lookingβ forward to your gems. Hugs!
Thank you so much, Vidya. Lovely to have you by me this A to Z π
Such a fantastic theme! I am intrigued to say the least. See you around and all the best. I am participating in this for the first time, hoping for some good show π
OH you will have GREAT fun! Trust me on this π All the best and I will check out your theme too, if you have written one.
I was terribly missing your flash fiction Shailaja! I read all your A-Z posts for 2015 and fell in love with your writing. Now, a flash fiction every day in April from YOU is a party to all your fans.
Looking forward to read you !
How lovely that people missed my fiction. I had no idea! This is one main reason I’m doing the challenge. To get back to writing. Thank you and good luck to you too, Sampada!
Wow! That sounds fantastic. You are such a talent at micro fiction and blue goldfish sounds just perfect π I am looking forward to reading your stories.Good luck!
Thank you so much. I love your theme too. Good luck, Parul!
The Queen Bee really believes in coming back into rhythm with a bang π
Good luck! Will try and stop by as much as I can over the month.
Queen bee, it seems. Ha ha! But hopefully this will help me back to fiction. That’s the aim. Thank you, Sid π
Wow, girl….you are brave, indeed!
Wish you the very very best! <3
That I am. Brave. Very brave. And a bit foolish maybe. Thanks babe π
I hope this challenge helps you find your fiction writings mojo back. This sure sounds like a fun theme! My reading list for April grows and grows.
Thank you! I hope you enjoy it. Love your art theme too.
I’m sure you’ll nail the challenge even though it’s last minute. Can’t wait to read your posts. I’m very mindful it’s the 23rd of March and that means another 8 days to the challenge. And just like that, I’ve begun to panic a wee bit! Good luck!
Uff don’t remind me. I’m calculating three posts a day if I have to finish before April begins. Where are those clones when you need them?!
Your theme is going to be really challenging!
Mine is going to be quite different: postcards I have got. But there is also a story behind every postcard…
Eva – Mail Adventures
Just checked out your theme. How absolutely lovely! I love postcards. Will be stopping by for sure.
Yippee Yay! π π I’m over the moon to find you taking part in the challenge and coming up with a theme reveal post. Awesome theme, Mam. I will definitely get to learn a lot from your posts. A blue goldfish? Ooo, I will wait for it. Happy A to Z π
Ha ha you are too adorable. I can see you running your own motivation group very soon. You’d do a fabulous job of it too.
oooooh! nicee! btw, I jumped in at last minute too…but what’s important is that we are in! Yay!
Yes!!! That’s the important thing. Now to write the posts.
Challenge within a challenge – Shailaja you thrive on that. All the best. Will look forward to your posts.
I do, Suzy. I’ve realized pushing myself always helps. At least for writing. Good luck to you too!
A challenging theme always promises a devoted audience! There’s the challenge of atoz, another challenge of finding 26 oxymorons, and the best one: fitting it all in 100 words! It’s no wonder you’re so awesome, Shailaja β€
April is indeed going to be the best month ever ππ
He he, you and that Shalini are peas in a pod. Praising me whether I deserve it or not. Definitely awaiting April with joy!
Yay! Welcome to the #AtoZChallenge. You are a veteran:) I took a couple of pointers from your post on tips for the challenge and trying to keep my posts short & sweet too:) Looking forward to your stories.
Oh dear, hardly a veteran π But so glad you found the posts useful! Look forward to reading your posts too.
All the best, I am intrigued and tempted to join in, last year’s fiction was fun to do π
Why don’t you join? I know, though, shifting is difficult to manage during the challenge. Will miss you for sure.
Looking forward to read your posts, Shailaja !!! Best of luck !!!
Thank you so much, Vasantha π
Wow. This I’m excited about. And knowing you, this is going to be brilliant. Looking forward to this, Shailaja π
You place too much faith in my abilities! Hope I live up to it.
Superb!
Loved the theme and I can already imagine how much I’ll love your stories. Can’t wait to read daily and cheer for your 100 word stories.
Good Luck for the challenge π
You’re so sweet! Thank you!
Woohoo.. congratulations for taking this up. And what a challenging theme this will be. Looking forward to your posts. Still envious and still tempted. Why does it have to be April??
You can still join, you know? π
