Cold as the night,
The big drops hit his face

Chained to his heart
Was the dead weight of loss;

Her silvery laugh
Echoed in his ears.

Hands clawing through the air

He plummeted into the chasm!

The clouds wept in profusion. . .

This week’s question:

Have you ever seen the rain?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Shrill, piercing, strangely appealing
It makes for a different harmony
Scurrying, scampering, all around me, running
My mates make a beeline for the melody
Falling back, I try to cease and desist
But these notes I cannot resist
They’re the  Piper’s call
