Yearning- #Fridayfictioneers

Bicycles stood lined up,in neat rows of three. There was something about their stationary solidity which unnerved me, almost as if they were watching me with a sentry’s piercing gaze.

The other side of the arch bloomed and beckoned with its riotous colours of orange, red, green and gold. Beyond the boundary lay freedom and untold possibilities.

‘Attention!’ Raspy and loud, the commander’s voice snapped me out of my daydream.

I looked forlornly at my friend, seated on the perimeter. Jane said it with her eyes.

You be good, Galileo. Dog-obedience school will be over before you know it.

  1. Awww!! That’s so cute!!
Poor Galileo.. how hard it must be for him to not be allowed to frolic about!! πŸ˜€

  2. Dear Shailaja,

Often stories from an animal’s point of view don’t work that well. This one did. So well in fact I wanted to pat Galileo’s head. Nicely done.
